Colon Cancer Diet
The colon cancer diet is one which explains about the right foods one should be eating to heal the body. It also helps you to learn and understand about food tolerance and what foods you should be in fact avoiding if you suffer from this disease.
However whether you have undergone surgery in order to remove part of your colon, radio or chemotherapy will depend upon what kind of diet you actually have.
The main part of this diet is that it is one which is low in fiber so all fruits and vegetables that contain high levels of fiber need to be avoided. Also with this diet you can no longer eat foods which are rich or contain high levels of fat. Unfortunately all these types of foods are very likely to exacerbate the condition.
It is crucial that with this diet you actually keep a good record of not just what you eat but when you eat. This will then help to highlight any particular foods which are actually causing you problems and which you know then to avoid in the future.
The other thing that one must keep a record of is what digestive problems you are having and when they occur. This again just like keeping a record of what you eat will help you to highlight any particular food or group of foods that are exacerbating your condition further.
However, you may find over time after undergoing radio or chemotherapy treatment for this condition that you can return to eating foods that you enjoyed before. But it is important that you regularly keep a check and remove foods which may be causing you problems once again.
